Part-Time Flexible – 10 hours per month.
Salary – will be based on the experience and/or training of the applicant.
General Description: To direct the choral music for a variety of worship experiences.
Skills Required:
- Proficient knowledge of musical compositions.
- Proficient music conducting, coaching skills and experience.
- General knowledge of the seasons of the church year and Methodist practices of worship.
Responsibilities:
- Provide choral direction for the 10:45 a.m. worship service.
- Working in conjunction with the Musician to assist with the selection of music appropriate to the theme or season of the Church.
- Rehearse weekly with the Choir and Musician.
- Plan/Assist with the implementation of special music events such as cantatas.
- Serve as consultant to guest musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists.)
- Meet on a regular basis with the Minister and Musician to plan for worship services.
- Other task as assigned by the Minister.
Compensation and Support:
- Annual salary will be by a calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31). Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience level. Pay periods are monthly.
- Hours: Sunday 10:30 am – noon. Choir Rehearsals One (1) hour per week with date and time to be determined with the Minister and Musician.
- Flexibility for additional practice times as needed.
- Four Sundays paid vacation within the calendar year. Coverage for these vacation dates and any other absences will be arranged by you.
